Who we are
This website, eshtam.com, is run by the Eshtam team (“Eshtam”, “we”, “us”). Eshtam is not yet live: there are no accounts, purchases, bookings or donations on this site. You can reach us through our contact page.
What we collect
When you visit. Like most websites, our server keeps a standard log of each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, for example to detect abuse.
When you write to us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, an optional subject and your message, together with your IP address and browser information for spam prevention.
What we do not do. This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we use it
- To reply to your message and keep a record of our correspondence.
- To protect the site and the contact form from spam and abuse.
- To comply with the law, where it requires us to keep or share information.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers who process data on our behalf:
- An email delivery service delivers contact-form messages to our inbox. The website itself does not store your message; it is sent straight to us by email.
- Domain and network services provide our domain’s DNS and may provide content delivery and security services.
These providers may process data outside India. They act on our instructions and are bound by their own security and confidentiality obligations.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted. Contact-form messages are kept in our email for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other applicable law, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct or complete it;
- erase it, where we are not required to keep it;
- address a grievance about how we have handled it.
To make a request, write to us through the contact page. We will reply within a reasonable time, and within any period the law sets.
Children
This website is not directed at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before contacting us.
When Eshtam launches
Accounts, purchases, temple bookings, donations and the Ask Eshtam guide will need more personal information than this site uses today. We will update this policy, and tell you what each feature collects and why, before any of those features collects anything.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Eshtam develops. The date at the end of this page shows when it last changed.
